Local Expertise and Leadership in Provincetown

In Provincetown, Binder created the historic commission (now the Historic District Commission) and served as chair from 1992-99. She also chaired the Provincetown Public Pier Corporation for 10 years and recently served on the Harbor Committee, guiding Chapter 91 compliance. Her involvement spans the Zoning, Planning, and Licensing Boards, and she chaired the Building Committee for major municipal projects, including the reconstruction of MacMillan Pier and the installation of the central sewer system.

Her leadership of the Local Comprehensive Plan Committee led to the plan’s certification by the county in 2024. With over 30 years of board involvement, Binder values good governance and collaboration with and among regulatory agencies. Her extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations streamlines projects, saving clients time and resources by fostering positive partnerships with regulatory boards and leaders.

Binder is also the senior preservation specialist for Provincetown’s Underrepresented Communities Grant from the National Park Service to document LGBTQ significance within the Provincetown National Register District. She was invited by OneCape to present her work at their annual conference in 2024.
